Wednesday 13 November 2013

This week it was 2T's turn to to spend the next 3 Wednesday mornings doing art.
First we looked and talked about different kinds of maps and what they were for.

We discussed the story of Hansel and Gretel and how they laid trails of breadcrumbs and stones to find their way home, and the children made some trails of their own in the playground.

We collected all sorts of interesting objects from the playground and took them back into the classroom to make some detailed drawings and observations...

The children used oil pastels to make big A3 drawings of some of their favourite finds...

The detail in this drawing is lovely and the colours are beautiful.

We learnt about blending and mixing colour.

We also made some line drawings using fine liner pens. This one of a mushroom shows the gills and the way they curve.

Well done 2T - you all made a great start to the project!
